Creativity and New Media

Image
New media is a great way to foster creativity and explore the world. In my case, I used a computer-aided design (more commonly known as CAD) software/system to design a character. In my case, I designed a Jiggly Puff which is a very popular cartoon character from the show Pokémon. With this software and my design, I can essentially connect it to 3D printer and have it come to life. Above is the original design that I made. With this software, I can also share it with others. They would then be able to manipulate it themselves however they like or simply keep it the same as well.

Creativity

One big way that social media can foster creativity is through the sharing of experiences and ideas on various platforms. YouTube is a great example of this being implemented. Many influencers and creators would post different contents whether it is traveling, cooking, DIY or just anything they want. By doing so, many other people end up following in their footsteps and also make contents of their own. In a way, they all inspire each other to create. One might think that people might just copy each other but it is actually the opposite. Users always try to be unique and differentiate themselves from past creators so that they can stand out. This is a great way for creativity to thrive and come about. Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

With the progression of technology, the virtual world has come into play in so many scenarios and uses. One of the biggest uses that have benefited humankind is the use of virtual reality in order to give patients a chance to dive into an alternative universe so that they would be able to recover from any past illnesses. For example, a patient who suffers from PTSD can use virtual reality to slowly adapt and get used to their fears without any consequences.  VR can also be used to engage in interactions between people who do not live in proximity to each other. Going off the topic of medical uses, therapy sessions are able to be scheduled to meet. On a more casual note, friends and families can also use the opportunity to meet and interact through the interfaces. One problem that might come from virtual reality is the idea that there would not be a separation between reality and the virtual world which will eventually hinder your life in the real world. With everything that is go...

Blog about Twitter

I believe that Twitter is such a valuable source and method or learning and should definitely be incorporated more into the everyday classrooms. At the most basic level, it allows students to become more accustomed to the digital world which the world is shifting closer and closer into. Other than that, it also allows engagement at a much broader scale by reaching to people all over the world. Overall, the process is simply so much more intuitive and efficient. On Twitter, users are able to directly link content that they are referring to, add photos, videos and links to further embellish their content and be more engaging overall. Topics are able to be grouped together so finding them is much easier as well. Whereas BlackBoard discussions are more limiting in terms of functionality. Since it is more an internal system, only users from the institution are allowed to access the site and communicate. The interface and layout are not as simply and user friendly either. There is also a l...

Blog: Social networking sites

1.        Facebook It is almost like the jack of all trades in the social media world. Users are able to share photos, articles, plan events and use a very efficient messaging system to communicate with their peers. Sometimes, this may even be seen as a down side since it tries to be the best at everything. It is very simple to get started on Facebook and signing up is very straight forward. 2.        Twitter On Twitter, users are only able to post, read and share tweets with a limited amount of characters at their disposable. They can contain graphics, videos or texts but max out at a character limit of 280. This is a more niche platform and users usually communicate amongst themselves since it is not common to share content directly from other third party platforms. They also incorporate hashtags quite a bit on the platform which allows users to easily categorize tweets and ideas into topic based. 3.   ...

Blog Social Networking

One big way that blog social networking can be beneficial in a business aspect is the idea of monetization. By placing advertisements and other promotional channels as a part of the blogs users, customers and the advertisers can all benefit. From the user’s side, they are able to earn revenue doing what they love. From the advertiser’s side, they are able to benefit from all the traffic that passes through the blog creating more recognition for the company and hopefully resulting in them making money as well. Lastly, the customers are also able to benefit since they would be receiving a “free” service since the fee is already incorporated in the monetization. Other than this, there are also a slew of other benefits that come with blog social networking. By using blogging as a channel, content marketing can then be utilized which is a very effective way to engage with the target audience, building a better brand and generate sales. ...
